Mission One Million’s plans for the orphaned or abandoned children is to raise them to become the best at what God calls them to do and to give them the ability and opportunity to accomplish God’s call in their lives. Whether the child’s desire is to become a nurse, pastor, business owner, teacher, or orphan-care facilitator, they will be trained to understand that whatever they do, it is for the glory and advancement of God’s Kingdom.
We believe that food, clothing and an education is just the start of forming a child’s mind, not the end. We are committed to giving our children the tools to change their environment and make a difference in their own countries. This will enable them to truly be world changers for the cause of helping humanity and advancing the Kingdom of God. In every facet of the child’s life they will receive a strong education in the area of godliness and living a life that makes the Lord proud of them. It is our belief that the education we provide for these children will free them from the bondage of a third world mindset and equip the children with minds that see no limits to what can be achieved in Christ.
When you ask
one of our orphans what they want to do when they grow
up the response is incredible. Most respond that they
want to be involved in ministry, whether it is to become
a pastor and plant a church, a Christian school teacher
in a remote village,
a nurse and starting a clinic, starting an orphanage and
reaching children just like themselves or becoming a doctor
and healing the sick. Most of our children will tell you
that they love God and want to help the needy and broken.
Right now approximately 80% of our children go into fulltime
ministry in one of the occupations stated above.
The reason they
give these responses is because we are helping them to
realize these goals in a practical way. From the moment
we reach these children we tell them that God has a great
purpose for their life and this begins the rebuilding
of their self worth and confidence that they so desperately
need. We do not fail to stop there, but proceed to give
them the education, direction, and guidance that the child
needs to accomplish their goals.
In summary, when you evaluate the world, the countries that flourish and are economically sound are the ones that have taken the time and energy to raise the children with morals, character and strong values. Many times this is lacking in the third-world because of economic struggles and social/religious beliefs. If we reach these young orphans and raise them to be spiritually healthy and educated they will change their countries and become the future leaders of the world.
